For all.Group SummaryThe Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.Recognized globally as an innovator in all aspects of vehicle exteriors, Magna provides everything needed, from materials development and design through manufacturing and assembly, to help automakers create sleek, state-of-the-art vehicles across the world.POSITION SUMMARYThe Back Up Production Team Lead reports to the Production Supervisor (and performs duties ofSupervisor in Supervisor's absence.)The Back Up Team Leader will work as a Operator until called upon to cover absenteeism of aSupervisor or Team Leader.The Back Up Team Lead's focus is on the racking, shipping and warehousing areas of the plant.The Back Up Team Lead is responsible for monitoring the plating schedule and co-ordinating themovements of raw parts to the racking area. They are responsible for maintaining the warehousingareas inside and outside and co-ordinating the movement of product and packaging to and from theplant location.The Back Up Team Lead is responsible for maintaining the shipping area and ensuring proper labellingand scanning procedures are being followed. The Back Up Team Lead ensures that the departmentmeets production targets and maintains safety and housekeeping standards.POSITION RESPONSIBILITESReview and co-ordinate the schedule for the shift and adjust labour plan as required.Perform daily checks that all pre-production safety, quality, and productivity checks are completed byTeam Members.Hold start-up shift meeting; perform start of shift activities:o Review of previous shift information regarding safety, quality, and productivity issues.o Make work assignment adjustments based on absenteeism, training, etc.Walk the production area to confirm 5S, equipment readiness, and material supply conditions are tostandard. Facilitate 5S and conduct daily audits. Initiate corrective actions as required for any nonconformance.Begin preparing safety, quality, and productivity communication information for next shift.Ensure LPA and TPM are completed. Follow up with any discrepancies.Review department's hourly targets and provide recommendations to achieve production targets asrequired (including throughput, yield, and labour efficiency).Provide support for daily production. Activities may include covering labour for absenteeism, and/orbreaks as required, cycle counting, report auditing and problem resolution.Coordinate/manage the Shipping area. Activities include coordinating the JIT and shunt shipments,covering for the Receiver, managing supplier deliveries, making timely CMI entries and maintaining thehousekeeping of the docks and computer station.Coordinate/manage the warehousing areas. Activities include keeping track of inventories, managingcycle counts, organizing parts/packaging storage, ensuring FIFO system is followed and managing trialparts.Verifying packing slips, scanning, and labelling procedures are adhered to. The Team Lead will monitorand provide feedback as required.Provide input for Performance Appraisals.Collect, analyse, and summarize production results at the end of the shift. Prepare and ensure that shiftproduction reporting is recorded accurately and on time into the Trans4M and Blackhawk system.Lead and provide guidance to operators to achieve Company's objectives in a fair manner while ensuringsafety, quality and cost standards are met.Assist as necessary to ensure that First Off's are completed on timeReview all suspect/scrap material and work with support departments to implement corrective actionsFill in for temporary leaves from work cell, such as washroom breaks.Adheres to and enforces all plant housekeeping 5S rules and policies including enforcement ofrequirements.Responsible for part quality and has the authority to stop production, if necessary, to correct qualityproblems.Ensure employees are commencing their shifts in a timely manner and after breaks.Foster a positive working environment with Operators, Peers, Supervisors and all other internal supportdepartments.Use the forklift as required.Perform any other reasonable request by management.TEAM LEADER HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIROMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIESIncludes but are not limited to the following:Ensure workers follow the law and Rollstamp's Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies andprocedures and ISO45001 Occupational H&S Management System (OHSMS) and ISO14001Environmental Management System (EMS) requirements.Inform workers about the actual and potential hazards about the job and within their area, and respondto their safety concerns.Make sure workers wear and use the right personal protective equipment (PPE) and protective devicesand know how to work safely.Involved in incident investigation and workplace inspections/safety checks.Conduct safety talks or training with the workers, and correct unsafe acts or conditionsWORKER HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIROMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIESConduct work in compliance with the Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) regulations and ISO45001Occupational H&S Management System (OHSMS) and ISO14001 Environmental Management System(EMS) requirementsFollow all Rollstamp's HSE policies and proceduresUse and wear the right personal protective equipment (PPE) and protective devicesReport absence or defect in any equipment or protective device to the Supervisor/ManagerReport any hazard, unsafe act, or condition to the Supervisor/ManagerAttend/participate in all required trainingSKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIREDEducational Requirements: High School Diploma with post-secondary education preferred.Minimum Experience: Minimum 4 years manufacturing experience. Industrial supervisory experiencepreferred.Courses Required: Excellent knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act, BEST Supervisor Training, SpillResponse, TDG an asset, Clark Software, CMI, 5S, IATF 16949 & ISO 14001.Computer Skills: Good computer knowledge of MS applications and Lotus Notes. Able to work with CMO andClark database.Licenses/Permits Required: Not required however counterbalance, scissor lift, reach truck licenses are abenefit.Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 25kgs, able to stand for extended periods of time, workovertime as required.Communication Skills: Strong verbal, reading and written English communication skills is essential.Additional Education/Experience/Skills:First AidSuperior knowledge and understanding of Q.A. specs and quality acceptanceExcellent attendance record and ability to work in a team environmentMust be able to work flexible hours and overtime where requiredSelf-Motivated - must be able to work with minimum supervisionMagna International
