Additional responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:Maintenance of patient dental records and file maintenancePreparing office charts for appointmentsManaging correspondenceReceiving/sending radiographsScheduling and confirmation of appointmentsManaging clinic and operating room cancellationsOpening and closing the clinicGeneral billing/accounting support including, preparing/processing insurance claims, processing debit/visa/MC payments, receipt of payments, and day-end financial proceduresHours of WorkMonday – Friday, 0800-1600 (may change as operationally required).Your QualificationsMinimum of a High School Diploma or GED required.Successful completion of a recognized Office Administration program preferred.Minimum of two (2) years of related administrative/secretarial experience is preferred.Minimum of six (6) months related experience in a Health Care setting preferred.Experience with dental billing/insurance claims required.Demonstrated knowledge of medical/dental terminology an asset.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer programs/technology, including AbelDent (testing may be conducted on candidates)Previous experience in a dental office/clinic environment preferredPrevious patient registration experience preferredDemonstrated ability to type accurately with a minimum of 60 wpm required (skills testing may be completed on shortlisted candidates and the score will be considered as part of overall suitability for the position)Demonstrated strong interpersonal and organizational skills required.Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and multitask within a team setting.Experience with Meditech, Outlook and the Internet an asset.Familiarity with a variety of office machines (photocopier, facsimile, etc.).High degree of initiative, diligence, attention to detail, and self-discipline/focus.Competency in other languages considered an asset.A combination of equivalent education and experience may be considered.Where there are no qualified candidates who meet the minimum requirements for experience, consideration may be given to candidates without the required experience.Thank you for your interest in IWK Health.Please note that we only contact applicants selected for interview/testing.
