Accounting ClerkAlberta Innovates is seeking an Accounting Clerk for our Finance team. The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for accounts receivable and general accounting duties.Are you our Accounting Clerk? Here’s some more information about the position:The successful incumbent will be accountable for, but not limited to the following:Additions, disposals, maintenance and amortization for fixed assets.Review and enter expenditure contracts in the financial system.Processing vendor invoices on a timely basis in compliance with contract terms and conditions. Confirm appropriate expenditure officer approvals have been obtained prior to payment.Process weekly cheque runs.Recurring and posting journal entries, and performing month end close process for account receivables and payables.Reconcile GL accounts.Recording transactions accurately.Maintaining confidentiality of client and vendor information.Qualifications;A degree in Accounting or FinanceEnrolled in the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) programTwo years of related accounting experienceAttention to detailGood interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to prioritize and multi-taskFlexible and AdaptableWorking in a team environment and independentlyProficiency in ExcelKnowledge of accounting software program(s)Effective collaboration and communication skillsOrganization, planning, and prioritization skillsWhy Alberta Innovates?We offer our employees opportunities to work on projects that will expand their skill sets while witnessing the visible impacts of their efforts.
