In doing so, Legal Division provides direct, practical and strategic legal advice to portfolio ministers, the secretary, other senior staff and over 1,600 government schools, supporting approximately over 650,000 Victorian Government school students.About the role - Full time - 2 year fixed termWe are offering a rare and unique opportunity to join the executive team of the Department of Education's premier in-house legal team, as the Director of the Commercial and Legislation Branch. We are seeking a recognised specialist with exceptional skills in construction and property law.In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with a co-Director to lead and manage the Commercial and Legislation Branch. Your primary responsibility will be to lead the property, construction, and commercial legal work for the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA). This role is also responsible for providing strategic input, oversight and advice on the procurement methodology adopted for consultancy, works and land assembly arrangements with a view to minimising risk across the VSBA building program.
