You will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects while providing clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience. You will be a key part of our multidisciplinary group serving our private sector clients.At Dillon, we operate as one team. The successful candidate can be based at any one of our following offices: Calgary, Ottawa, Kitchener, Guelph, Toronto (Downtown or North York), or London.This is an office-based position. We offer flexible work hours to help balance the competing demands of work and personal life. Responsibilities:Environmental PlanningContribute to environmental assessments (EAs) for a variety of projects (e.g., oil and gas pipelines and facilities, transmission lines, roads)Coordinate environmental regulatory permit applications and support environmental management planningDevelop and coordinate public and agency consultation programsLiaise with private sector clientsContribute to business development activities including proposal preparation and presentationsLearning & DevelopmentCommit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional developmentContribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committeesQualifications:A university degree in environmental studies, planning, geography or a related field with a strong interest in environmental assessment1-2 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the consulting industry. New graduates will be consideredAbility to work independently (self-driven) and contribute to a multidisciplinary team environmentStrong communication, report writing, organization and interpersonal skills with a keen attention to detailExperience:Experience and interest in provincial and federal environmental assessments for utility and linear development projects (e.g., pipelines, powerlines)Understanding of Canadian EA methods, requirements and legislation, including the federal Impact Assessment Act, Canada Energy Regulator Act, and the Ontario Environmental Assessment ActFamiliarity with environmental policy, legislation, and regulations and environmental regulatory processesDemonstrated abilities in multidisciplinary teamwork, detail-oriented tasks, and technical report writingProficiency in the use of word processing software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Adobe Reader)Experience or familiarity with socio-economic and GBA+ impact assessments is considered an assetWe have a strong supportive and inclusive culture at Dillon and welcome these strengths and personal attributes:Highly motivated with a proven ability to take initiativeStrong report writing, organization and interpersonal skills with high attention to detailStrong communication skills, both written and verbalCommitted to success through personal development and team advancementDesire to be a key member of a solution-oriented, multidisciplinary teamAbility to work independentlyWhy choose DillonDillon is powered by people who are technically proficient, passionate about socially important projects, and motivated to deliver superior, tangible results.
