Mechanical Design Engineer (Solidworks) – SPM, Machinery, Conveyors, Structural SteelworkBased in Kettering (Office based) – 3 Month Contract – High chance of contract extensions£35 - £37.50 per hour, Ltd Company, Outside IR35This well-established privately owned machinery manufacture is at the forefront of technology within the UK process industry. Over the last 12 months this company has continued to experience excellent growth and has won several projects which has resulted in the need to expand their flexible contract resource. The design team’s workload has increased and there is a real need to maintain the quality of service to its clients. As a result, this company needs to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer immediately. If you believe you are suitable for this role, then please contact Steve Harrhy on 07827 295376 or email your CV toThe role of a Mechanical Design Engineer will involve:Working on a specific process engineering project.Visiting customer sites and surveying / measuring of the area where the machinery is required to go.Design of fabricated products, machinery structural steelwork3D modelling of machinery and plant layout using Solidworks– all the machinery designs have been standardised, bespoke parts of the designs would be access platforms, walkways, steel supports.Adhere to Machinery Directives (health & safety requirements for machinery in the EU)Create BOMs and CostingsLiaising with the internal project teamProducing general arrangement drawingsThe Mechanical Design Engineer will need to have the following experience:Strong design experiencePrevious design of machinery or conveyorsExperience in designing structural steelworkSolidworks experienceCapable of producing 3D designs of sections, 3D plant layouts, 2D manufacturing drawingsStrong attention to detailThe benefits of this contract are:Contract extensionsCompetitive hourly rateWorking on exciting projectsTo be considered for this role please either hit the 'Apply' button on this site or email your CV directly to .
