OverviewAre you a data analytics expert with experience in human resources metrics? We have an opportunity for a People & Culture Specialist within our People & Culture Analytics and Reporting (PCAR) team. This role provides an excellent opportunity to build on your analytical and problem-solving skills in an active, large organization.You’ll be part of a central team that provides reporting and analysis on all areas of HR using identified data sets, including understanding the business questions of clients, identifying the right data to answer those questions, and analyzing that data to provide insight. This role focuses on providing advisory services, consulting with business clients and presenting insights and analysis on various topics.How you’ll make a difference: You’ll turn data into knowledge that benefits workers and employers across B.CWhere you’ll workWorkSafeBC, we offer a model that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.In this role, you’ll work primarily from our Richmond office, with some flexibility to work from your home in B.C.What you'll doWith direction from the Manager of People & Culture Analytics and Reporting, you will work with clients to understand their needs and provide complex reporting and analysis on an ongoing and ad-hoc basisIdentify, develop, define, and manage distribution of metrics, measures, and KPIs via annual and quarterly reports for all areas of People & CultureProvide insights and analysis for business client questions, in a way that visually communicates the story of what is happeningCollaborate with the technical team in the development of predictive analytics and statistical modelsIs this a good fit for you?We’re looking for someone who can:Collaboratively with groups and other departmentsMaintain strong interpersonal skills in a team environmentDemonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skillsTake initiativeDemonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skillsYou also possess strong capabilities in:Results management: You are well-equipped to set goals and objectives, devise plans for achievement of goals, monitor progress, solve problems, and make effective decisions.Creative thinking: You can see new possibilities, find connections between disparate ideas, and reframe thinking about an issue; you are innovative and can use new ideas or perspectives to solve difficult problems.Customer service focus: You have a strong customer-service orientation founded on understanding the business needs and pressures of our clients, and the ability to proactively identify needs and take action to resolve issues.Your background and experienceA degree or a diploma in human resources, data science, computer science, business technology management, information systems, business analytics, or a related disciplineAt least 5 years of experience in a human resources role, including at least 3 years of experience in a data analytics role, preferably in the public sector or a large unionized settingProficient in MS Office suite including Excel, Word, Office, PowerPoint and TeamsIntermediate skills in Excel (filtering, pivot tables, formulas including SUM, SUMIF, AVERAGE, VLOOKUP, IF, INDEX MATCH, etc.)Exposure to an HRIS system (PeopleSoft/Oracle preferred) and knowledge of HR metrics and reporting principalsExperience with Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) or similar SQL development environment is requiredCHRP/CPHR designation (or working towards completion) is an assetIntermediate skills in Power BI or similar data visualization and reporting software is an assetGood working knowledge of relational database concepts and best practices is an assetExperience in these additional database, reporting, or statistical tools would be an asset: SSRS, Tableau, Business Objects / SAP - Web Intelligence Performance Point, Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate, SPSS, SAS, Python, R is an assetWe’ll consider equivalent combinations of education and experience.Important to knowBefore we can finalize any offer of employment, you must:Consent to a criminal record checkConfirm you’re legally entitled to work in CanadaWorkSafeBC’s COVID-19 Employee Mandatory Vaccine Policy is suspended effective January 9, 2023; however, we reserve the right to re-implement it in response to changes in the public health landscape, including public health orders.
