Accounting AssistantPosition Overview:The position of Accounting Assistant is part of the accounting department at Stuever & Sons under the A Head for Profits of Illinois (AHFP) ownership group. The Accounting Assistant is responsible for accurately creating and recording transactions across the entire AHFP group. This role works with the Stuever & Sons sales and installation team, other office personnel, and the Stuever & Sons contractors for draft line cleaning and service work.This position will report directly to the Controller but will have accountability to the Director of Finance and partnership.General Duties/Responsibilities:Create, record and review various A/R, A/P, and G/L transactionsUpdate and maintain various worksheets and schedules related to A/R, A/P and G/LCommunicate with contractors, operations, and management to obtain missing invoices and source documents necessary for accounting recordsProcess any/all cash receiptsRespond promptly to customer inquiries and provide customers with requested documents such as payment authorization forms, W-9s, and COIsIssue cash disbursements by check, direct deposit, and vendor payment portals as approved by the finance departmentUpdate and maintain customer and vendor accounts with correct contact, W-9, and other informationAnswer incoming phone calls, process mail, and direct calls accordinglyManage assigned email and respond promptly to internal and external messagesUpdate and maintain accounting department records in Google DriveReview G/L monthly for potential reclassification of transactionsBecome fully knowledgeable with the entire accounting system of the chart of accounts and how our activities translate to the financial statementsBe able to re-prioritize daily and weekly tasks as needed due to our fast-paced environmentCommunicate daily or more often between staff, the Controller, and the Director of Finance to help keep the entire department in syncOther duties as assigned by the Controller and other key executive personnel that may apply to any of the entitiesRequirements:Some accounting experienceMicrosoft Office, Google Suite, Quickbooks experienceAudit experience is preferred but not requiredAbility to work solo and with a teamCommunication skillsBenefits:A benefits package valued at more than $10k*.
