You're instrumental in delivering key projects, pushing the boundaries of the CMS and new platform Digital Experience Platform (DXP). This role invites you to be proactive and inventive, exploring and pushing the boundaries of what our technology can achieve.As a CMS Developer, you'll play a key role in enhancing our digital presence, ensuring a smooth and engaging user experience while supporting the university's ambitious digital strategy. Your focus will be on the continual improvement of our web publishing platforms, with a special emphasis on Squiz Matrix CMS. You'll also collaborate closely with stakeholders, providing expert guidance and empowering them to maximise the potential of the platform to tell the university's story and meet their communication goals. Your contribution will be vital in driving technical excellence and working across teams to realise a cohesive digital vision.Lead the implementation of CMS functionality for the University's websites within our Matrix Controlled EnvironmentFollow User-Centric Design principles to create, manage and update the tools and processesDesign and configure improvements to the backend management of our systemsActively collaborate within the Digital Channel Operations (DOC) and wider Digital Strategy & Channels teams as well as other cross-university stakeholders to deliver both BAU (Business as Usual) and project workWho we are looking forWe're seeking a Web Developer with extensive experience in Squiz Matrix CMS. You'll bring exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across all levels. Your strong written and verbal communication skills will be key in conveying technical information and best practices to both technical and non-technical audiences. With your excellent organisational abilities, you'll excel in managing and delivering on various aspects of the role.You will also have:Proven experience designing, developing, and implementing complex solutions within the Squiz Matrix CMS environment, including customisation, template creation, and asset managementProficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with a deep understanding of responsive design principles and modern web development best practicesA strong track record of building intuitive and user-friendly solutions to meet business and user needs and simplifying content editing processes to empower non-technical users.Demonstrated experience with APIs is desirableUnderstanding of WCAG Digital Accessibility Standards and experience implementing accessible web solutions is desirableFor further information regarding responsibilities and requirements please refer to the attached PD.This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
