Provide strategic oversight and advise the Chief Health Officer, Director General and senior management on disaster management outcomes and improvements. As part of the executive leadership team you will ensure high-quality, safe services and workplaces. Join us in making a meaningful impact on Queensland's disaster management landscape.ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain strong relationships with hospitals, health services, government agencies and other stakeholders.Oversee the implementation of disaster management initiatives aligned with Queensland priorities.Manage strategic issuesSupport significant system wide health initiative's.The successful personThe successful candidate will provide leadership to the Disaster Management Branch, fostering collaborative approaches within the Office and across the Department of Health. You will also be required to prioritise activities under extreme deadlines and competing demands, ensuring high-quality outcomes that withstand scrutiny. Additionally, the Executive Director will lead and manage the disaster branch acting as a proxy for the Chief Health Officer when needed.About the Office of the Chief Health OfficerThe Office of the Chief Health Officer (OCHO) consists of an Office, Unit and Branch, which supports the Chief Health Officer to provide strategic guidance on a range of matters relevant to the health of Queenslanders and to discharge the statutory obligations of the role.
