Applicants who thrive in a positive atmosphere where service excellence is top priority are encourages to apply.Job SummaryThe successful candidate will have an opportunity to plan and manage logistics of Grouse Mountain hosted events, including creating internal briefs and debriefs, planning and executing programming, working with Marketing on event collateral, and coordinating with the relevant operational teams and external partners/vendors. Events include The Peak of Christmas, Easter on the Peak, Bear-thday Fun-draiser, Seek the Peak, Multi Grouse Grind Challenge, Grouse Grind Mountain Run, and more.This position reports to the Marketing & Events Manager.Essential Job FunctionsBuild and maintain client and partner relationsLiaise with internal departments and external suppliersUnderstand the complex needs of different events, and diverse clientsEnsure a high level of guest satisfactionPlan event logistics for Grouse Mountain-hosted events. This will include working with cross-functional teams, coordinating volunteers, booking vendors, coordinating promotional material with Marketing, and moreExecute, manage and oversee events on the day of, including welcoming guests, problem-solving, communicating with staff, and organizing vendorsOther duties as requiredSupervisory ResponsibilityAssists with hiring, training and supervision of part-time seasonal Events Representatives.Required Qualifications and AbilitiesSuccessful completion of post-secondary degree or diploma (events or marketing preferred)Previous experience in event planning and executionExperience supervising staff and coordinating volunteers an assetAbility to work independently and in a team environmentAbility to work in a fast-paced and high demand environment, managing the logistics of multiple events simultaneously and meeting tight deadlinesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDetail orientated and extremely organized with time management skillsCommitted work ethic; positive work attitudeProficient in MS Office including Word, Excel and OutlookWorking ConditionsThis role requires outdoor work on event days in a variety of weather conditions. Must be able to lift 20lbs+.
