The Manager will oversee a portfolio of programs and courses spanning a variety of areas with a focus on business programing. This position reports to the Director of Professional and Part-time Learning Programs.The Manager will have full responsibility for achieving all budget and enrolment targets established for the portfolio. The incumbent will also handle all aspects of people leadership and management for a large group of part-time facilitators and instructors, ensuring appropriate staffing and the consistent delivery of high-quality student learning experiences. In addition, the Manager will participate in a wide range of initiatives to ensure that the existing programs/courses under their direction remain viable and up-to-date, and to expand the portfolio on an ongoing basis.Working as a member of a high-performing and innovative management team, the incumbent will collaborate closely with their colleagues in order to jointly advance the department’s strategies and goals. Effective relationship management skills are critical to success in this position, as the Manager will establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse range of professionals both internally and externally, in order to maintain and grow the portfolio moving forward. The incumbent will also be comfortable assuming responsibility for additional projects/initiatives as identified by the Director and the Executive Dean.Along with the areas noted above, the Manager will be responsible for the resolution of complex student/instructor issues and concerns using the lens of intersectionality. The incumbent will also directly handle administrative responsibilities for their portfolio such as, but not limited to, facilitator and instructor hiring, course scheduling, updating information for the PPL website, establishing and maintaining contractual agreements, developing and launching new programs and courses and monitoring/analyzing portfolio performance throughout the year.QUALIFICATIONS: * A master’s degree in a related fieldA minimum of 5 years of related experienceExperience in people and budget managementExperience working within a business setting is considered an assetExperience working in a post-secondary education setting – preferably at the college level considered an assetExperience teaching at the post-secondary level considered an assetProven success working in a fast-paced, high volume, complex environment while applying very strong skills in the areas of problem solving, analysis, negotiation and conflict resolutionAbility to effectively apply an equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging lens to student and staff scenarios as well as appreciate the impacts of intersectionalityExceptional relationship management skillsSuperior interpersonal skills, along with the proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a professional and highly collaborative mannerExcellent written and verbal communication skillsConflict resolution and de-escalation skillsOutstanding organizational skills, including managing multiple deadlines and tasks with competing prioritiesExperience in course development considered an assetHighly motivated to not only succeed, but excelA passion for both student success and innovationUnderstanding of the Ontario college system; added familiarity with OntarioLearn and the nature of continuing education in Ontario would be an assetRequired SkillsBand 11: $96,466 – $120,582Required ExperiencePlease apply below by submitting your cover letter and resume to the online portal.
