Job Title: Estimator for Low-Rise Wood Frame DevelopmentsLocation: Vaughan, OntarioJob Summary:As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in our clients development process by providing accurate and detailed cost estimates for their low-rise wood frame projects. You will work closely with the project management, design, and contracts teams to ensure our projects are financially viable and completed within budget.Key Responsibilities:Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for low-rise wood frame developments.Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine project requirements.Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to gather essential information for estimates.Use Newstar software to create and manage estimates, ensuring all data is up-to-date and accurate.Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure they align with project requirements and budgets.Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.Participate in project meetings to discuss estimates, budgets, and project timelines.Provide support during the bidding process, including preparing bid packages and reviewing bids.Assist in the preparation of contracts and other project-related documents.Monitor project costs and report any variances to the project management team.Qualifications:Minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating for a developer, with a focus on low-rise wood frame developments.Proven experience with Newstar software.Background in contracts and familiarity with construction contract documents.Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with a keen attention to detail.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).Strong organizational and time management skills.Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.Professional certifications in estimating or project management.Experience with other construction management software.Competitive salary and benefits package.3 weeks of paid vacation.Opportunities for professional growth and development.A supportive and collaborative work environment.The chance to work on innovative and exciting projects.Newlands Group
