It’s your support, expertise, and guidance that helps people ignite their full potential and shape our neighborhoods into vibrant and healthy communities.With us at their side, they can Shine On.As part of your total compensation:· Receive a complimentary YMCA membership to our Health & Fitness facilities· Access to Y at Home, where you can participate in fitness programs from your own home· Discounts on YMCA childcare and camp programs· 3 weeks’ Vacation entitlement and paid wellness days· Comprehensive benefits package and pension· Complimentary wellbeing and counselling servicesAbout the Role:Background:The YMCA of Greater Halifax/Dartmouth has been the lead on this project and has successfully worked with partners on theestablishment of the partnership group, conducted a needs assessment, the development of the national strategy, creation of an on-line course and project evaluation framework.The Opportunity:With important project cornerstones in place, we are seeking an experienced and dynamic GBV Project Coordinator to lead the development, implementation and operational excellence of annual work plan activities which include, but are not limited to: regular meetings and engagement with partners, resource development of anti-violence curriculum for immigrant serving agencies and population specific tools (engaging men and boys, working with newcomer survivors of GBV) , organizing forums and events including content development for presentations, project research, ongoing evaluation of project activities, report writing, data collection. Evaluation tools should demonstrate positive impact of activities with a national scope. The coordinator will also support the YMCA GBV team with online course recruitment and the leadership of the national staff champion network.In this role, you will:Responsibilities:Provide ongoing coordination and leadership of all aspects of the National GBV Project including annual program planning quality assurance and evaluationEnsure operational excellence in program delivery standards, timelines, and resource allocation, managing information, activity tracking, communication protocols, following other operational standards, regulations, and policiesContribute to the development and execution of the project's strategic vision in alignment with organizational and funder objectivesElevate project quality and uptake by ensuring successful project delivery, meeting complex deliverables, and achieving intended outcomesCreate and maintain a positive work environment for staff, with an emphasis on retention, wellbeing, and supportResponsible for the recruiting, onboarding, supervision and development of project staff using inclusive hiring and performance management practicesLead knowledge sharing among partnership team members and share best practices in GBV project deliveryProactive development of client and partner informed tools, resources and processesCultivate and maintain effective and professional relationships with partners and networks. Represent the organization on appropriate community networks related to service areaEstablish processes for collecting, analyzing, and reporting on project outcomes and utilization of resources including the online course, project website, strategy priorities and other tools to assess the effectiveness of the National GBV Strategy for Immigrant Serving Agencies and inform continuous improvement effortsPrepare regular narrative and statistical reports for internal and external use to demonstrate achievements delivery of outcomesEducation and Skills Qualifications:Skill & Knowledge RequirementEducation or training in Gender Based Violence prevention and intervention theory and practices, program management, or a related fieldMinimum 2+ years of progressive experience in delivering and/or coordination of settlement, GBV or other community servicesExperience managing or supporting multi-careholder programs or projectsExperience in developing, implementing and monitoring operational logistics including expenditures and budget planningDemonstrated experience with resource and tool development for awareness raising and building a common base of knowledge across the immigration serving sector about GBV awareness, responses and interventions that are trauma and violence -informed, intersectional and client centeredProven ability to effectively lead, coach and motivate staff teams modelling organizational mission and visionExperience working with immigrant and refugee populations, preferably in a settlement or cross sectoral contextStrong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to design, implement, and evaluate initiativesProven record of meeting contract deliverables and reporting on outcome achievementExcellent communication and interpersonal skills in promotion, community outreach and service network developmentStrong problem-solving skills, ability to respond to a complex and changing work environmentStrong writing and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively write professional project reports in English, French is an assetExcellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, ACCESS, Excel, Word, PPT), Teams, and Zoom and the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies required for excellent service deliveryTo Apply:Please apply online at https://ymcahfx.ca/workwithus/Please note that all successful candidates are required to provide:· Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Check, and Child Abuse Registry Check (less than 6 months old), if 18 years of age or older· Attend Child Safeguarding Training upon hireAt the YMCA, we are committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace where every team member feels valued, respected, and empowered to bring their full, authentic selves to work.
