Job Description:In order to ensure your application is received by NAIT for thorough review and consideration, please apply directly through our Careers site atReporting to the Operations Manager in Ernest Dining Room, this position is a member of the team responsible for the day-to-day routine delivery of customer-centered services in the School Skilled Trades. Work performed is related to general cleaning duties, daily ware washing using a Flight dishwasher system and kitchen sanitation. Evening and weekend hours are required.Key Responsibilities:Wash dishes, pans and utensils; operate, load and unload the dishwasher; put dishes away; clean kitchen equipment.Maintain stock in accordance with directed levels for various items with regards to chemical and cleaning supply inventories.General and deep cleaning duties in dish rooms and kitchens.Follow specific food handling guidelines and OH&S standards set out by the school.Establish and cultivate effective relationships with campus personnel including students and staff to effectively deliver services and ensure customer satisfaction.Skills & Abilities:Experience in customer service environment performing food service related dutiesGeneral knowledge of WHMIS; Food Sanitation and Safety StandardsUnderstand the use of various kitchen equipment and sanitation equipment including flight dishwasher maintenance, chemical dispensing operations and work safe practicesKnowledge of customer service skills, communication skills and organizational skillsAbility to work as a team member, to seek compromise, and to handle routine types of duties in a deliberate mannerAbility to emphasize quality and thoroughness, and a willingness to help othersPreference will be given to candidates with knowledge of NAIT and NAIT's programs, policies and guidelinesQualifications:Completion of grade nine.Experience in customer service environment performing food service-related duties.Post-secondary education in the Hospitality field a definite asset.Equivalencies may be considered.Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).Remuneration: $30,792.84 - $40,882.14 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
