To be able to reach this ambitious goal we are looking for talented individuals who, in addition to their passion for their own role, also have strong team spirit and want to contribute to supporting a meaningful corporate mission.Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities / DutiesThe Project Development Engineer will be responsible for developing zero carbon district heating and cooling solutions for large scale developments including HIUs, secondary (in-building) network, heat sub-stations, primary (underground pipe work system) and the energy centre. This includes end to end lifetime energy and system performance model. Project Development Engineer is responsible for technical solution from early client engagement stage, through business model evaluation and post contract support and will be working closely with Commercial Team, Delivery Team and Operations Team.Be a sparring partner for the project manager and the rest of the project team ensuring the project is delivered on time;Provide technical solutions that enable zero carbon heat and coolingDevelop solution that considering system lifetime performance and operationExecute design and technical solutions for grid extensions and connections after system is in placeEnsure engineering solution and design is delivered in line with the performance and business objectivesManage internal and external stakeholders, client and client’s technical advisors, internal and external engineering supportEnsure engineering solution is taken through the governance processEnsure engineering solution achieves carbon performance and financial performance targetsAssuring high safety, regulatory compliance, technical integrity and quality, including required authority approvalsEngage with a supply chain and specify best quality materials and equipmentDrive Engineering ExcellenceKnowledge and SkillsTo be successful you should have the following experience:Mechanical Engineering degree qualified and experience in Mechanical or Process EngineeringDesign management experience of district heating and cooling systems up to RIBA stage 4 including Energy Centres, secondary network and HIUsGood knowledge of typical risks in heat networks and good knowledge of best practice engineering principles that enable high network performance standardsSafety conscious and understanding of design for safe installation, operation, maintenance and customer experienceEvident design experience of communal or heat networksGood understanding of low and zero carbon solutionsGood stakeholder management skills and commercial awarenessGood understanding of available supply chain in district heating industry including boilers, CHP, Heat Pumps, pumps, heat interface units, underground pipeworkSoftware skills: required: MS Office preferred: EnergyPRO, AutoCAD, Hysopt,Good knowledge of Building Regulations, Applicable British Standards, Good practice guidelines and Other national standards, regulations and guidelinesTo enjoy the work with us we believe you need to be:A high performing individual with a drive to successfully accomplish what is set to be doneGood attention to detail and strong technical approachStrong commercial awarenessEnergetic and dynamic but yet a team player that helps everyone else to be better at what they doSimple understanding of the energy industry an advantage but not a requirementReally good stakeholder management skillsEntrepreneurial and creative in approaching and solving problems – comfortable setting up new processes from scratch and not waiting to be told how.Clear and effective communicator in all formsPassionate about the energy industry and innovation to deliver low carbon energyHealth, Safety and environment awareUnderstanding of necessity for proper quality assurance and ensure all project documentation is reviewed, filed and engineering handover package is sufficient for Asset and maintenance qualityQualificationsOur successful candidate has a relevant University degree in chemical, mechanical, energy or process engineering, with experience in the field of Engineering, Procurement and Construction.Additional InformationOur offerGood remuneration, a challenging and international work environment, and the possibility to work with some of the best in the field.
