Description :Perkins & Will is a multi-disciplinary design firm specializing in the design of public buildings and spaces, including recreation centres, libraries, academic facilities, corporate and commercial projects and transit projects. Within this body of work there is a strong emphasis on research and sustainable design; our research labs are continuously developing new knowledge to allow our creativity and curiosity to impact our projects and their communities.Perkins & Will is looking for an Intermediate Architect/Intern Architect who performs in a self-directed manner in all aspects of the building design process, including preparation of presentation materials, schematic design, design development and contract documents, model building, rendering and construction administration activities within an established budget, schedule, site and programmatic requirements.As an Architect/Intern Architect with the Perkins&Will team, you will:Prepare preliminary design studies and adaptations of alternatives for review.Prepare drawings for schematic design and design development.Exercise creative judgment and design application skills in preparing client presentation materials, including design sketches, renderings, models and graphics.Adhere to firm and project goals of excellence in design, execution, and sustainability.Prepare contract documents including details, sections, elevations and schedules.Produce amendments, addenda and bulletins.Assists in preparing adaptations and technical alternatives for project team review.Perform area calculations according to specified standards.Perform site analysis, including survey of existing conditions and field measurements.Perform tasks according to Perkins and Will Project Delivery Manual.Organize and plan accordingly to execute tasks.Self-check work for accuracy, omissions and legibility.To join us, you must have:Professional Degree in Architecture or Architecture Technology4+ years experienceA minimum of 2 years working with RevitExperience in Contract AdministrationExperience in all phases and aspects of a project is desirableIntermediate knowledge of project design and construction documentation productionKnowledge of construction materialsGraphic and 3D visualization skillsEffective verbal and written communication skillsCollaborative and professional work ethicLEED AP or within 6 months of hireOther attributes:Comfortable working in an open, multi-disciplinary, and team-oriented environment;Openness to participating in collaborative design exercises;Ability and experience in balancing multiple stakeholder and community interests;Excellent organizational and multitasking skills; andEnergetic, self-motivated and a willingness to learn.Our Studio:We are steps away from many amenities and also easily accessible by bike, public transportation and car. The studio is open concept and represents our collaborative approach to our work.
