This position has strong initiative and a positive can-do focus. A focus on delivering our exceptional services of full cycle bookkeeping and payroll administration.Providing bookkeeping assistance to clients, internally and externally, in various formats including QuickBooks (Desktop and Online), Sage 50, and CaseWareProcessing transactions in integrated cloud-based systemsApplying critical thinking abilities to assess transactions and determine appropriate accounting treatmentProcessing payroll for clients and associated remittancesPreparing and filing sales tax returnsPerforming account reconciliationsCompleting and submitting ROEsPreparation of client reports as requiredPreparation of T4s, T4As and T5018sProducing accurate and timely financial reportingHelping onboard new clients and assisting in developing accounting workflows and process documentationOngoing training and support for clients in all areas of bookkeepingDeveloping and maintaining strong client relationshipsMentoring team members to maximize their potential and build personal and team growthWho is our ideal candidate?Graduation from a postsecondary institution – bookkeeping diploma would be an assetMinimum of five years of accounting experience is a must, preferably in public practice or for multiple clients with strong bookkeeping skillsCritical thinking and trouble shooting skills are essentialAdvanced experience with cloud-based accounting softwareIntermediate Excel skills a must and advanced would be an assetAbility to change priorities quickly and easily, meet recurring deadlines and take ownership of assigned client workStrong attention to detail and willingness to learn and developExcellent written and oral communication skillsAbility to work effectively both independently as well as part of a teamStrong client and interpersonal skills - our clients mean the world to usApproachable, supportive team player with a strong sense of urgency and a demonstrated history of achieving common goalsAbout Baker Tilly KDNBaker Tilly KDN LLP (BT KDN) is a full-service accounting firm providing assurance, tax and related business advisory services to a broad range of clientele from our offices in Peterborough, Lindsay, Courtice and Cobourg.
