This role will work within a motivated and professional team and will be responsible for the following:Financial Reporting:Prepare monthly (and as required) reports on the Clinical Trials Unit’s (CTU) revenue and expenditure against budgets and targets for internal and external stakeholdersPrepare quarterly reports by therapeutic area with analyse of income and expenditure variance against budget and investigate root causes for deficit and follow up for resolutionReview project accounts to ensure cost/revenue allocation and provide quarterly reports to Principal investigatorsContract Review and Data Reconciliation:Provide contract preparation advice and support to the Start-Up and Regulatory team, on to ensure common procedure items are correctly costed and billable items are correctly referenced and in contracts for vendor and trial sponsor negotiationsProactively review trial expenditure, to identifying unaccounted expenditure and work with the start-up regulatory team to make contract amendments as required for inclusion of additional incurred expenses.Proactively review trial revenue to ensure invoice expenses are received and reconciled.Investigate and liaise with trial sponsors to resolve discrepancies between statements from clinical trials sponsors and internal records to ensure invoices are sent out accurately and on timePerform data reconciliation and calculation (for purpose of invoicing) requiring well developed knowledge and understanding of the trials businessCompliance and Financial Transactions for Clinical Trial accounts:Perform and process revenue invoices for trials and liaise with Revenue Services to issue invoices to sponsors.Preparation of Purchase Order and requisition in accordance with University policiesPerform month end close activities, including preparation of monthly journals for accruals, salary allocation and reclassifications etcProcess and reconcile Clinical Trials financial transactions, including purchase orders, payment and invoice requests and invoicing for the CTU, both internally and externally with clinical trials sponsors and relevant other external vendors.Assist in update and close of all general ledger and project accounts in the finance system for the CTU.About YouYou will be a qualified, experienced and enthusiastic finance professional with a background in accounting or finance. You will regularly draw on your own knowledge and experience to analyse and investigate financial discrepancies or accounting problems and develop then implement business-savvy solutions. You will possess reporting experience, knowledge of Australian Accounting standards and experience in month end close processes.You will possess strong communication and people skills, along with excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and manage competing priorities. FMHHS also has the Macquarie Medical School, the Macquarie University Private Hospital, and runs patient clinics, labs, imaging and a pharmacy all on campus in close proximity to support clinical trials, and support providing patients with access to state of the art treatments. The CTU undertakes sponsored and investigator initiated Phase I to IV trials across multiple therapeutic areas with multiple Principal Investigators.
