General Information:Majestic mountains, the rugged West Coast Trail, serene lakes, and one of the world’s tallest free-standing timber rail trestles all lie in the picturesque Cowichan Valley Regional District (CVRD). Located on Vancouver Island, the CVRD provides a wide range of local government services to a population of 80,000 within its 4 distinct municipalities and 9 electoral areas. Just 50 km north of Victoria and 30 km south of Nanaimo, the Cowichan Valley offers a warm climate and numerous parks, recreational, cultural, and social opportunities.A regular full-time Customer Service Liaison - Corporate position is available in the Legislative Services Division within the Corporate Services Department at the Cowichan Valley Regional District (CVRD).Reporting to the Office Coordinator, the Customer Service Liaison – Corporate is the public’s primary point of contact providing exceptional and professional customer service at the CVRD main office front desk, on the phone, and via email, regarding all of the Regional District’s operations, services, programs, events, bylaws, and regulations. In addition, the Customer Service Liaison – Corporate is responsible for a variety of administrative support services for the CVRD main office including word processing assignments, data entry, maintaining a computerized mail registry, filing, handling cash and issuing receipts, mail processing, and photocopying. This position also supports the activities of the Legislative Services Division with reception services and responding to general inquiries, and the scheduling of all Board and Committee meetings. Qualifications:Secondary school graduation plus completion of a minimum 6-month office administration certificate from an accredited educational institutionFour (4) years of related experience in a multi-line reception environmentExperience in a regional district is considered an assetAn equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be consideredfor the full job description listing all the job requirements. Hours of Work:Guaranteed 35 hours of work per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and eligible for flex time. This position may be required to attend some evening and weekend meetings. Salary:Wage rate in 3 steps as per the Collective Agreement between the CVRD and CUPE Local 358, $32.49 - $33.47 - $34.47 per hour (2024 rates).
