The team includes physiotherapists, occupational therapists, pharmacists, social workers, nurses, doctors, and community care aides. Together, high quality acute care is delivered flexibly and ensures the patient is the centre of our care whilst at home or in our clinic.What you'll be doingAs the HITH Occupational Therapist, your acute skills in respiratory assessment and treatment are necessary to support our patients at home and avoid hospital admission or support early discharge home.In addition to this, common cohorts of patients include post orthopaedic (elective and trauma), cardiac (stents), breast surgery and frailty patients who would otherwise be in hospital. Responding to acute deterioration in the home and escalating appropriately is a frequent requirement of this role and supported by the HITH team.People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:Must hold registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia. Hold an unrestricted NSW Driver’s License.Proven ability to exercise professional judgement commensurate with years of experience and to establish effectively collaboratively working relationships within a multi-disciplinary team and inter-agency networks.Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage workload demands, meet deadlines and complete activities (including ability to work within scope of practice and seek assistance when required).Demonstrate skills and knowledge in the provision of Occupational Therapy service to consumers, carers and families requiring assessment, environmental modifications, home modifications, appropriate referral and discharge planning including Hospital in the Home or Acute care in current occupational therapy practiceNeed more information?1) Click here for the2) Find out more about for this positionFor role related queries or questions contact Rachelle Foxton on Rachelle.Foxton@health.nsw.gov.au or 02 9462 9460.This is a NSW Health Category A position which requires immunisation and screening for certain diseases.
