Our employees are highly motivated, self-driven leaders who understand our business and are committed to delivering exceptional service to our customers.The Role:Queensland Government Air (QGAir) forms part of the QPS, Aviation Capability Group and provides government aviation services specialising in both rotary and fixed wing operations in support of the QPS and our partner agencies in regular and emergency response operations across Queensland.Our commitment to safety, efficiency and innovation has established us as a leader in government aviation services. We are currently seeking a dynamic, experienced and innovative Director of Aviation Operations to join our team and lead our diverse aviation operations.You will be responsible for managing Fixed and Rotary Wing operations, engineering and airworthiness, including oversight of corporate and financial governance, safety and quality, and control and supervision of personnel.Your Key Accountabilities will include:Meet scheduled, emergency and aviation needs of the community and the Government through the management of aviation operations capabilities.Identify emerging issues and changing trends of operational or strategic significance and their potential implications on the organisation.Provide leadership and direction to a multidisciplinary team to deliver aviation services and promote and drive the development and implementation of innovative strategic activities.Lead the implementation of strategies, perform regular evaluation and review of processes, and manage organisational risks associated with Civil Aviation Safety Authority regulatory framework.Provide high level verbal and written advice and support to the Chief Superintendent, Aviation Capability Group, on complex matters relating to civil aviation issues and key operational matters.Develop and maintain processes for appropriate consultation, negotiation and collaboration with clients and stakeholders, and represent Aviation Capability Group at internal and external forums.Mandatory Requirements:Must have the experience and skills necessary to be appointed as the Air Operator's Certificate Accountable Manager for Fixed and Rotary Wing operations.Highly desirable:A tertiary qualification in business and/or aviation.Strong understanding of Civil Aviation Safety Regulations (CASR) as they relate to government and law enforcement aviation operations.Special Conditions:In compliance with CASA Drug and Alcohol Management Plan requirements, the preferred applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment testing and participate in the QGAir Drug and Alcohol Management Program.Applications to remain current for 12 months.Job Ad Reference: QLD/580699/24Closing Date: Friday 09 August 2024Further informationWe are committed to building inclusive cultures in the Queensland public sector that respect and promote and .Please ensure you download all attachments and follow the instructions on how to applyDocumentsBefore applying for this vacancy please ensure you read the documents below.Queensland Government
