About The RolePolicy Research ManagerLocation: London UKO Moorgate (hybrid role working between home and office)Hours: Part-time 21hrs per week (x3 days Flexible)Salary: £44,438 to £49,954 per annum pro rata (£29,325 to £33,302 at 21hrs per week) (Plus ILW if applicable)Contract type: 12-month fixed term contract - Maternity coverCould you ensure that high quality policy research is commissioned and delivered that drives the organisation's crucial policy and influencing activity?Could you ensure that high-quality policy research is designed and delivered that drives the organisation's crucial policy and influencing activity?What will a Policy Research Manager's job involve?Design and be responsible for delivering a policy research strategy and plans to support the organisation's external influencingWork collaboratively with policy and public affairs colleagues to understand evidence and research needs and develop projects that meet those needsLead a team of two Senior Policy Research Officers, with responsibility, oversight and quality control over all research and reports produced within the policy, research and advocacy departmentEnsure the policy, research and advocacy team is guided by and follows clear processes and plans to support the delivery of research within agreed timeframes and to a clear purposeManage the end-to-end process of working with commissioned partners, from developing appropriate terms of reference to resolving emerging challenges with partnersWhat will a Policy Research Manager need to be successful?You are an experienced researcher, with significant experience in a variety of research methodsYou have an extensive understanding of the role of evidence in the development of policy and advocacy initiativesYou have expertise in conducting research with a strong focus on participation and co-productionYou have substantial experience in delivering research with commissioned or academic partners, and in managing those relationshipsYou have experience of line managing staff and the proven ability to work as part of a team, collaborating with staff members at all levelsYou have excellent written and verbal research communication skills, including translating sometimes complex findings into a persuasive format for a public or political audienceYou are highly organised and possess the skills to ensure the team's multiple projects are led to time and within budgetYou have knowledge of voluntary and statutory organisations and a demonstrated interest in policy and policy developmentThe closing date for completed applications is 23:59hrs on Sunday the 11th of August 2024, with interviews to follow.Please apply early, as we'll be reviewing candidates throughout.
