Thiess is the place to make things happen.Mount Arthur South is a mine based in Muswellbrook NSW.About The RoleThiess are seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Training Manager for a permanent employment opportunity working at our Mount Arthur South project. As the Health, Safety & Training Manager, you would be responsible for the ongoing support of a project culture where all employees give priority to health, safety, environment and training management, procedures, practices, standards and targets.In this role, you will;Manage the provision of Health, Safety & Training services to the business by leading and coordinating the activities of site based Health, Safety and TrainingManage the compliance systems, practices and standards across the projectConduct daily reviews of all incident reports within your area of responsibilityManage and coordinate team activities by setting performance objectives and allocating appropriate resourcesBuild a strong HST team that is capable of delivering on targetsProvide solutions to technical, resourcing and logistical problemsServe as the key promoter of the safety culture on the operationAbout YouPrevious experience in a senior role in Health and Safety, Training Management are essential, as is your ability to understand workplace risk.Previous experience in managing both the health, safety and training risks of a business would be highly valued.Demonstrated ability to lead strategy and influence change with top level management is required.Relevant tertiary qualifications with a minimum Diploma in OHS and/or Cert IV WH&SDemonstrated experience in open pit mine operationsSound knowledge of NSW OHS legislation and mine regulationsLeading by example, you will be 'hands on' in your approach with a clear focus on contributing to the implementation of project safety management plans, including HST strategies and program delivery to minimising workplace incidents.
