DescriptionThe Fundraising Coordinator organizes and promotes all events and projects.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Targets, reaches out to, and develops relationships with new potential donors (individuals, businesses, organizations, etc) seeking to gain financial support for Gateway of HopeBuilds the donor base through following up on initial contacts and general leads of various kinds, including reaching out to past event participantsCultivates relationships with current donors through visits and general correspondence, seeking to gain further commitment and increase their financial support of Gateway of HopeDevelops newsletters, promotional materials, annual fundraising and other media and fundraising appeal related materialsDevelops the spring, fall and other general fundraising and letter campaigns in consultation with the Operations Manager and Executive DirectorManages and updates the Gateway of Hope websiteMakes presentations to businesses, community groups, service clubs, schools, churchesMaintains a year-round focus on the Gateway of Hope Christmas campaign; organizes and gives leadership to the Christmas campaign (letter appeal, kettle campaign, media releases, etc)Organizes and promotes all other Gateway of Hope fundraising events and fundraising focused projectsCollaborates with the Gateway of Hope Volunteer Coordinator for Christmas Kettle and other fundraising event volunteer needs, develops and supervises a team of dedicated volunteers (regular volunteers and event volunteers)Maintains a focus on the Gateway of Hope fundraising campaigns, programs, initiatives, volunteers and event through social media; Facebook, Instagram, etc.Communicates and promotes all other Gateway of Hope fundraising events and fundraising focused projectsProvides occasional back up to reception for breaksPerforms other duties as assignedHOURS:Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm; however, may be required to work occasional evenings and weekends for events and speaking engagementsDuring events, may be required to work a flexible schedule including afternoon (noon-8pm) shifts as well as a Tuesday through Saturday work weekPermanent, full-timeBenefits, RRSP's after 3 monthsQUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:At least two (2) years of prior related experience, including customer service, coordinating events, administrative assistance and database management experienceAt least one (1) years of community college, with specialized/relevant coursesMotivated to meet and exceed fundraising goals, establish and maintain collaborative relationships with donors/sponsors and other stakeholders to meet business objectivesDemonstrated initiative, creativity, flexibility, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environmentProficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)Criminal Record CheckPREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES:The Salvation Army will accommodate candidates as required under applicable human rights legislation.
