As a key member of the Building Contract Management (BCM) Team, you will advance the Government’s objectives and enable government agencies to leverage the benefits and efficiencies of a common but flexible approach to procurement in the building construction and maintenance category.As Senior Category Manager, you will work to create a positive working environment that is focussed on continuous improvement and embraces the values of equity, diversity, respect and inclusion.Job details Position status Fixed Term TemporaryPosition type Flexible full-timeOccupational group ProcurementClassification AO8Workplace Location Brisbane Inner CityJob ad reference QLD/580781/24Closing date 08-Aug-2024Yearly salaryFortnightly salaryTotal remunerationSalary OtherJob duration Until 01 September 2025 with possible extensionContact person Daniel MenzContact details Phone: (07) 3215 3538Access theWhat you will be doingLead and manage BCM sub-category working groups, including development and approval of sub-category plans, delivery of approved strategies/activities and regular progress reporting to Category Council for sub-categories of spend.Implement complex category initiatives requiring extensive change management and business acumen, with an ability to manage both internal and external multi-disciplinary teams.Complete category planning demand and market analysis, risk management, whole of life cycle cost analysis, coordination of the development of forward pipelines, category performance and process improvements.Contribute to the development and presentation of strategic procurement and category management material for the quarterly BCM Category Council, Industry Reference Group and IRG focus groups and collaboration sessions.Establish and drive cross agency working groups accountable for the delivery of category plans and procurement strategies.Provide expert strategic advice on BCM procurement and category management, using a range of resources, including data analytics and market research, as well as provide corporate reporting, correspondence responses and strategic information, as required.Develop and maintain specialist BCM procurement and category management tools, templates and processes for whole-of-government application.Maintain a current knowledge of BCM trends impacting global and local supply chains, other key industry information, and other market intelligence information.Assess value and risk and undertake procurement activities with integrity and due consideration to probity, ensuring that actions are transparent and defensible.Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers, industry and key asset owning and BCM procuring agencies to drive strategic and innovative outcomes and continuous improvement.What we are looking forDemonstrated category management experience (experience in BCM highly desirable) and ability to understand your customer and supplier base to develop innovative, scalable and tailored solutions to meet stakeholder needs.Ability to manage ambiguity and work across boundaries in the delivery of key initiatives.Ability to work collaboratively with industry and diverse customer groups to develop vision and strategies needed to meet and advance category objectives.Applications to remain current for 12 months.Job Ad Reference: QLD/580781/24Closing Date: Thursday, 08 August 2024Further informationWe are committed to building inclusive cultures in the Queensland public sector that respect and promote and .Please ensure you download all attachments and follow the instructions on how to apply.DocumentsBefore applying for this vacancy please ensure you read the documents below.Queensland Government
