Amazon is seeking an experienced and business oriented Engineering Project Manager to coordinate the planning, design and execution efforts of highly complex logistic process solutions for the continued expansion of our EU Customer Fulfilment network. Ideal candidates will have Engineering Program and Project Management experience combined with an established technical problem solving ability as well as Value Engineering experience.The role will understand all aspects of an Amazon Fulfilment Center while focusing on its automation technologies (conveyance, sortation, robotics) and storage solutions. This person will be responsible for planning, designing and delivering state-of-the-art material handling systems and innovations while coordinating internal teams and external vendors in order to effectively execute Retrofits, Initiatives and Expansions (REIs) in existing sites.End-to-end ownership for small to medium scale engineering projects (planning, design, installation, commissioning and qualification, launch support)Dive deep on technical details and provide value engineering and innovative solutions to drive frugality and continuous improvementsLead technical design reviews and propose design solutions for material handling and storage solutions that meet both business needs and global design standardsCreate, submit and track relevant CAPEX requests (Capital Planning) to ensure that all projects are delivered within budget and best overall valueAssess and communicate project status, drive escalations on potential risks and delays across multiple teamsAssist in providing equipment specifications and technical support to Procurement, Change Management and other business partners for best value and competitionCollaborate closely with various internal teams such as World Wide Engineering, Construction, Operations, Reliability Maintenance Engineering, Procurement and Change ManagementSupport standardisation, qualification and launch of external fulfilment sites, while closely collaborating with External Fulfilment (EF) business partners.A day in the lifeYou will work on the delivery of one of our Amazon Fulfillment Centers with a project lifecyle of about a year as part of a high-performing team. During the early project phases of project design and bidding, you will predominantly work in an Amazon office or from your home.During the project execution, you will be typically spend execution 50% of your time at the project site, with peaks throughout the year, extending to most week days with full ownership during the last phases of project installation, Commissioning & Qualification and post Launch ramp up. You will enjoy the rewarding experience to launch an Amazon Fulfillment Center or to upgrade an existing one.After initial months onboarding, you will be progressively given important and extending responsibilities, within the project and aside it, by taking the lead on other business horizontal tasks. You will be constantly helped by the team, will respect and leverage diverse point of views and focus on inclusion of new members.BASIC QUALIFICATIONSBachelor or Master Degree in Engineering or related discipline Experience interacting with cross-functional teams & subject-matter expertsProven Project/Program Management experience in comparable industrial environmentsExperience using MS Excel, CAD\BIM related softwares, MS ProjectAdvanced proficiency in verbal and written in EnglishFlexibility to travel up to 50% across projects in EuropeKnowledge about automated material handling systems, packaging technologies and storage solutionsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSProject execution experience in a construction environment (new build) or operational environment (buildout)Ability to lead internal teams to deliver cross-functional programs and manager vendor relationsKnowledge about automated material handling systems, packaging technologies and storage solutionsComprehensive understanding of operational as well as reliability and maintenance processes including relevant software toolsGerman, French, Polish, Arabic, Turkish are considered preferred qualification.Would you like an opportunity to travel and work in multiple countries and cultures?
