About MacCosham Inc.MacCosham has been providing rail yard terminal services for over 50 years and is experienced in the management of a variety of yard configurations. In addition to our rail intermodal terminal services, including lift-on/lift-off of containers and hostler services, we also operate several container and chassis repair depots associated with rail yard terminal services, with a full range of mechanical, welding, and associated repair services.MacCosham Inc. is looking for a full time, permanent Shunt Truck Driver to join our growing team in Calgary, AB.Role Responsibilities:Shuttling containers and chassis to and from track within a private rail yardInspecting containers and chassis for damage, reporting accordinglyCarefully placing and removing IBCs (inter box connectors) from containers on railcarUnlocking/locking containers from chassis and railcar, ensuring they are properly seated and communicating with Toplift Operator if there are any problemsSafely operating shunt trucks in small, tight spacesUpdating inventory in a specialized computer system (Oasis)Updating and maintaining accurate fuel records of company fleetAccurately reporting fuel records and temperatures on perishable loadsCompleting and documenting accurate pre-trip analysis of yard equipment using tabletsPerforming physical duties relevant to job requirements (standing/bending/lifting/climbing on railcars)Follow all safety procedures and regulationsPerforming other related duties as required or assignedQualifications:Previous shunting experience is considered an assetMust possess a valid Class 5 Driver's licenseMust be able to work on a rotating 2-week, 12-hour shift scheduleComfortable working outdoors in all elementsAble to communicate clearly, in English, over the radioMust have steel toe boots with a minimum 6 riseAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsMust have basic computer skills and be comfortable working with iPadsCapable of working under minimal supervisionMust demonstrate safe and efficient workplace practicesMust be able to work within a team environment to meet tight deadlinesHighly motivated team player, with excellent communication and interpersonal skillsAble to understand and carry out verbal and written instructionsStrong attention to detailCapable of meeting the physical demands of the work environment (i.e. lifting up to 30 pounds)Must be able to pass a company paid pre-employment screening test and background check as this is a safety sensitive positionCompensation:Company paid, comprehensive group benefitsRRSP matchingPaid sick days after 1 yearOvertime opportunitiesOpportunities for advancementPaid on-site trainingHard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety vests, & gloves providedAnnual boot allowanceMacCosham is committed to equal employment opportunity.
