PSWs are an integral part of a health care team, and in this role, you will encourage, support, and promote independence for patients in home and community care settings by assisting with activities of daily living under the supervision of our Personal Support Manager.We are looking for Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to help us bring patient and family-centered care to in patients in the Mississauga (MH3/3A/3B)area.Are you someone we should meet?We are hiring for every weekend work:Friday 6 PM - midnight;Saturday & SundayWhat We OfferCompetitive Wages, Incentives and PerksCompetitive wage grid $20.96 to $23.20 per hourA special $750 bonus for signing with CarePartnersPAID MILEAGE at 0.45 per/km PLUS travel timePaid orientation and hands-on mentoring from experienced, caring staffAccess to group discounts, including exclusive discounts from various retailersTotal rewards program which includes health & dental benefitsA robust Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for you and your family membersFlexible hours and a variety of assignmentsOpportunities for continuing education and trainingHands on mentoring and leadership supportOpportunities to volunteer in countries with limited access to healthcare servicesWhat The Role InvolvesAssisting with daily living activities, such as personal care (rise and retire), assistance with household tasks, respite care, medication assistance, special functionsPromoting a safe environment by demonstrating proper body mechanics, safe transfer techniques, and home safetyProviding cognitive, social and/or emotional support to the patientPreparing nutritious, varied and economical meals and snacks, including special diets, as determined by the care plan, using proper food preparation, storage, and hygiene practices.What You BringA strong desire and commitment to making a difference in the lives of their patientsExceptional interpersonal skillsAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamAvailability to work non-traditional hours, such as early morning, evenings, and alternate weekendsA valid driver’s license and vehicleValid certificate as a Personal Support Worker, Internationally Trained Nurse, Health Care Aid, Developmental Support Worker, Home Support Worker, or enrollment in a Nursing programTo protect our patients, we require current vulnerable sector check screening, a clear background checkNew Ontario PSW grads may be eligible to * receive a $10,000 bonus**from an approved PSW program in Ontario (on or after April 1, 2023)** in exchange for a commitment to work with us in a Full-Time position for 12 months, payable at 6 months and 12 monthsand an additional $10,000 relocation bonus****** when relocating to rural, remote or northern area and committing to working with us for 12 months, payable at start and 6 monthsCarePartners In Your CommunityIn addition to providing home-based health care, CarePartners also serves the community through clinics, transitional care units, and provides relief in retirement homes and shared care settings.
