We're looking for a professional, hands-on Controls Systems Engineer to work in our Boise office.General Summary:The Controls System Engineer assists the project management team by being present onsite at various projects to assist in the commissioning, testing, and training for vehicular barriers, high and low voltage systems, building access controls, pedestrian barriers, solar power platforms, and a variety of sensor packagesResponsibilities:Wire and terminate access controls of various types, protocols, and topologiesDetermine best practices for low voltage wiring in diverse locationsTrain other employees on basic and advanced electrical topicsBe fully responsible for a site’s startup and commissioning of vehicle barriers, traffic lighting, and other Sloan-installed (or other contractor) appurtenancesKnowledge/ Experience Requirements: Excellent oral and verbal skills including the ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels, and via multiple different means (phone, video conference, email, IM, etc.)Electrical engineering background or proven experience with electrical (high and low voltage) componentry and equipmentDemonstrated ability to work in adverse conditions under tight deadlines and minimal external supportAbility to work with a team and help others understand the complexities of the installed electrical control systemsAble to juggle multiple tasks and projects, and changing priorities.Independent, self-starter with demonstrated problem-solving ability.Strong math, technical, and analytical skill.Ability to read and interpret blueprint documents.MS Excel, Outlook, Word, Adobe AcrobatEssential Functions:Able to use a computer and a phoneAble to use office equipment (fax, copy machine, scanner)Must be able to move quickly from one area to anotherAble to operate a vehicleAbility to obtain security clearancesAble to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.Travel 75%Benefits Package:$50 - $65K+ salaryFull-time employmentHealth insuranceCell phone401K Retirement Program with Employer Match$200/Yr Boot ReimbursementPowered by JazzHRSloan Security Group
