Royal Hobart Hospital are seeking a dynamic, energetic Registered Nurse to join their team in a fast-paced and highly rewarding Trauma and Acute Surgical Unit.The role:Located in the Trauma and Acute Surgical Unit at the Royal Hobart Hospital, the Registered Nurse will:Work in accordance with NMBA codes and guidelines to provide effective and essential nursing care in collaboration with members of the healthcare team to plan, implement and evaluate patient/client care, and including patients/clients and their families in the planning process.Hold a strong emphasis on teamwork, actively contributing to the communication process, including attending and participating in team meetings, and working efficiently within their team to ensure interactions with patients/client's families and other health team members facilitate the provision of optimal patient/client care.Promote excellence in practice by having active involvement in evaluating, maintaining and improving the quality of patient/client care, and contributing to the review and development of relevant procedures, policies and practices and their outcomes.Contribute to a healthy learning culture, maintaining the relevant knowledge and innovations in the learning environment, while also identifying and meeting the educational needs of patients/clients and their families and developing, implementing and evaluating teaching plans.The Team:The Trauma and Acute Surgery Unit (TASU) is a fast paced, acute ward environment, and prides itself on a high standard of acute general surgical and trauma nursing care. We are seeking Registered Nurses to join the team who are dynamic, enthusiastic and ready to continue their professional development. We provide high levels of support for all new staff, and emphasis teamwork, collegiality and a multidisciplinary approach leading to high quality patient care. With the recent introduction of a Surgical Close Observation Unit on TASU, including capacity to undertake fixed-cardiac monitoring, we are seeking staff that keen to upskill in this area, or have qualifications and experience related to providing this level of nursing care.Note: - Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.Details of AppointmentMultiple permanent, full time, shift-worker (fully rotational) positions working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicantApplicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.Salary: $75,902 - $102,908 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:Professional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annumAccess to the Grade 4 salary range $96,558 - $102,908 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4Only for interstate targeted advertising Payment of $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full time for three years or more, on top of relocation allowance already available.Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification typeSalary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023Eligibility:Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria: * Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered NurseThe Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer.
