This position will manage a portfolio of TB-related research, mentor PhD students and staff, and serve as scientific lead for multiple studies.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESUnder direction from the Dr. Paul Drain, Study Principal Investigator, the Research Scientist 4 will be responsible for the following activities, including, but not limited to:Subject Area Expertise, portfolio management and development - 50%Serve as subject area expert on TBDevelop and strengthen new collaborations with academic and community partners for implementation of TB researchDevelop new grants for submission to CFAR, NIH, BMGF, or other sponsorsManage a growing portfolio of TB-related work and ensure that all grants meet their milestones and deliverablesMentorship - 25%Mentor PhD students in developing analytic strategies, data analysis and developing conclusionsMeet with students regularly and support them through their dissertation workMentor staff working on portfolio of work to ensure they are meeting timelines and administering work in alignment with the protocolScientific and statistical leadership - 25%Contribute to and lead the writing and submission of manuscripts to academic journalsDevelop Statistical Analysis Plan (SAP) and undertake new analyses based on the SAP. Lead all statistical analyses for the portfolio and ensure analyses are completed on agreed upon timelines for multiple studies.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSMaster's degree in a related field and four years of relevant experience,OREquivalent combination of education/experience.Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONSNationally and international recognized expertise in the field of TBSelf-starter and able to work independently with no supervision.Excellent organization, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and communication skills.Application Process: The application process may include completion of a variety of online assessments to obtain additional information that will be used in the evaluation process.
