Permanent Full Time-Reporting to the Manager, Investment Operations & Finance, the Assistant Manager, Investment Operations and Finance is responsible for supporting and participating in a wide range of operational and financial management activities of the Canadian Investment Division. The Assistant Manager, Investment Operations and Finance will work in a team of 6 to 7 individuals and will be accountable for the following activities:Accountabilities:Develop reporting and analysis for the Canadian Investment Division's expenses and operations to facilitate effective financial and operational management of the division.Prepare monthly expense reporting to senior management.Support and develop expense forecasts and the annual expense budget for the Canadian Investment Division.Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.Develop financial forecasts and models to support business planning.Conduct operational reviews of external borrowers of Canada Life, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations for new and existing Investment business.Provide support on strategic projects or other responsibilities as identified.Qualifications and Competencies:CPA designation is an asset, though not required.4-5 years accounting and finance experience.Effective oral and written communication skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a curious mind for understanding the business.Self-starter with high initiative and ability to work independently.Ability to adapt to changing work demands and manage multiple priorities.Demonstrated attention to detail.Experience in Management Accounting considered an asset.Experience with SAP Accounting System considered an asset.-The base salary for this position is between $89,800 - $166,300 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
