The Group is currently ranked second in the world for nuclear engineering.To ensure a viable, efficient, and reliable energy future for all.Job DescriptionYour Mission:The Senior Civil/Structural Engineer will:To assist the Discipline Lead in delivery of the structural engineering work packages to the required scope, quality, schedule and cost.Responsibilities:Assist Discipline Lead:Support in delivering structural engineering work packages.Ensure delivery aligns with scope, quality, schedule, and cost requirements.Technical Management:Manage technical deliverables of structural engineering packages.Ensure compliance with planned deliverables.Key Tasks:Prepare and/or check designs, analyses, reports, drawings, and specifications.Participate in problem-solving for technical solutions and new designs.Review and evaluate new designs, construction methodologies, and temporary works.Manage design work packages, including planning, scheduling, and progress reporting.Provide guidance to junior staff and supervise their work.Utilize Learn from Experience information to develop theoretical knowledge.Support development, construction, commissioning, and maintenance activities.Conduct on-site inspections of assets for construction and maintenance.Maintain familiarity with Facilities Engineering procedures.QualificationsProfile:Qualifications and Experience Requirements:Degree in relevant engineering discipline.Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership.Nuclear Introductory Course or equivalent knowledge.Design and substantiation of heavy civil engineering and building structures.Knowledge of architectural design of industrial buildings.Knowledge of building services design and installation.Knowledge of construction techniques for Nuclear Safety-related structures.Sound understanding of engineering design and safety practices.Project specification, planning, management, and budgeting experience.Familiarity with company procedures on Health & Safety, Design, and Quality.Working knowledge of engineering office computer applications.Experience in design support for conventional and nuclear submarines and facilities.Additional InformationWhy Join the Switchers?Career Growth:Professional Development: Continuous learning and career advancement opportunities.Support for Chartered Status: Assistance in achieving Chartered Engineer status or specialized training.Internal Promotions: Clear path for career progression with 70% of managers promoted internally.Minimal In-Office Requirements: Freedom to work remotely while staying connected with the team.Join Assystem to contribute to securing and enhancing Defence infrastructure.
