Our Melbourne Precinct is the proud home for our Apprentice Program.Ready for your next adventure?We now have a newly created opportunity in the role of Senior Manager, Maintenance Operations.Reporting to our Senior Manager - AMO and acting as a critical member of the Melbourne Precinct Engineering Leadership Team, this role will be responsible for cross functional management of the daily operation across the dedicated Melbourne Precinct (Line, Base & Intermediate) maintenance functions.In this role, you will develop strategies to maximise production and efficiencies by collaboration across the Melbourne Precinct and will provide support to the Snr Manager AMO for the ongoing safety and compliance of our AMO team and operations in accordance with the Jetstar’s Aircraft Maintenance Operations.As Senior Manager Maintenance Operations, Melbourne Precinct, your responsibilities will include:Fostering a culture centred around safety and compliance of both the people and operations in accordance with the AMO exposition and state OHS guidelines.Implement initiatives and continuous improvements that align with the Jetstar Engineering strategiesProvide continual compliance control of both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activity dailyBe present at all operational meetings within EngineeringEnsure that all operational issues are communicated appropriately in a timely mannerFostering a superior safety culture, including consultation with the team on safety matters, adherence to safe work practises including Fatigue Management Principles, safety inductions, leading investigations and implementation of post incident/hazard identification action plansCreating and maintaining a quality focused culture, including ensuring team member documentation is completed and distributed in accordance with policy and procedures, and carrying out ongoing quality monitoring of documentation and proceduresDelivering strong leadership to a team of direct reports, with an emphasis on growth and development and team member engagement.We’re on the hunt for someone who has:Lengthy experience in a Line Maintenance or Base Maintenance environment with previous experience in a management positionA CASA Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Licence, or demonstrated aircraft industry experience, would hold you in high regardA passion for people leadership, coupled with exposure to leading an operational teamStrength in problem solving and decision making, including the ability to consider the customer, cost, people and industrial impacts when proposing solutionsExposure to leading within a unionised environment would hold you in high regardConfidence in the use of TRAX, AIRMAN, AIRNAV, ROCADE or similar systemsUltimately we are searching for a confident, resilient individual who has a genuine passion for leading others and thrives in a complex, fast paced operational environment.
