Seating is at the center of the consumer vehicle experience and our seating solutions are developed from consumer research, prioritizing comfort, convenience and connectivity.About the RoleReporting to the Manufacturing Systems Manager, the Automation Technician (Millwright) is responsible for, but not limited to, maintaining, troubleshooting, overhauling and repairing stationary machinery and mechanical equipment.Your ResponsibilitiesInstall, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and programmable logic controlsRead blueprints, work orders, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work proceduresMaintain, troubleshoot, overhaul, repair, install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment (such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyers, furnaces and generators) according to layout plansSafely operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes and jacksInspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctionsAdjust machinery and repair or replace defective partsSafely operate machine tools such as a lathe, mill, grinders, drill press, bandsaw etc. as requiredClean, lubricate and perform routine maintenance work on machineryAssemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipmentApply mechanical repair principles and procedures to make sure that machinery runs properlyDetect defects and excessive wear in machinery and identify slight differences in dimensions and shapes of component partsRepair and overhaul electrical and mechanical systems and align moving parts as requiredSetup and adjust complex machinery for new patterns and productsAnalyze information to perform maintenance such as cleaning and lubrication of machinery, troubleshooting and run testing to ensure optimal performance of machinesConfer with management/supervision to recommend equipment changes and modifications in evaluating new equipmentOther projects and duties as assignedWho we are looking forYour preferred qualificationsMillwright trade certificationKnowledge of manufacturing maintenance operationsKnowledge and experience using welding equipment such as mig, tig, oxy/acetylene, plasma cutter etc.Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skillsAbility to multi-taskStrong attention to detailExperience with Fanuc robots an assetOpen to working with an apprenticeAccommodations for disabilities in relation to the job selection process are available upon request.What we offerAt Magna, you can expect an engaging and dynamic environment where you can help to develop industry-leading automotive technologies.
