Job DescriptionOn behalf of our highly regarded client, we are looking for an experienced Luxembourg risk professional to head up the Risk Department of the bank in Luxembourg, and to engage with the business as a member of the Executive. The role will involve identifying and managing potential risks for the organization and ensuring the business is conducted in line with its risk appetite. The business offers a good working environment, autonomy and scope to make your mark across all areas of risk.In this role, amongst other things you will :Lead the team, and be responsible for the risk framework and risk management processes across the risk spectrum; credit risk, market risk, operational risk, liquidity risk, etc. in the context of commercial bank with a significant book of financing activityManage the control mechanisms and risk models in order to enable continued accurate risk monitoring and risk forecastingEnsure excellent communications with the Executive and with senior managementSupport the Board with decisions through excellence in risk reporting in the team (Pillar II, Pillar III, ICAAP, ICLAAP, etc., )Be an active member of internal committeesManage regulatory related risk initiativesLiaise with the CSSF and other third parties in respect of riskEnsure the business operates with due consideration of relevant risks through internal communication and trainingRequirements:10+ years of experience in a similar role in a bank, working with corporate and institutional clientsSuperior technical skills, ideally with knowledge across credit risk, market risk, and operational riskPrior Luxembourg based experienceExcellent knowledge of Luxembourg laws and regulations, especially CSSF circulars, the Basel regulations, etc.Strong knowledge of risk management analytics and KRIFluent in English as this is an English speaking environment; French would also be an advantageExtensive knowledge of international financial markets and productsPrior team management experienceGood analytical skills, with exceptional attention to detailProven ability to manage teams and provide leadership as a subject matter expertApply now in English if you already work in Luxembourg and want to know more!Follow us on LinkedIn or check euroluxconsulting.com for other great job opportunities.We handle all applications in the strictest confidence.We will contact you if you make our shortlist.
