Full time, continuing position as a Wellbeing and Cultural Safety OfficerOpportunity to help support cultural safety and wellbeing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander studentsBase Salary from $99,455 - $107,216 + 17% superannuationAbout the opportunityAs the Wellbeing and Cultural Safety Officer, you will provide support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students through consultations, as well as by maintaining and building community development and partnerships. In this role you will contribute towards creating a culturally safe and accessible environment for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students to seek support.The jobholder may be required to travel to the University’s satellite campuses in NSW.Your key responsibilities will be to:join a dynamic, diverse and passionate team reporting into the Manager, Wellbeing Serviceswith a particular focus on the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, ensure effective student at risk management processes are in place to achieve compliance with student guidelinesprovide brief interventions for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students or connect them with ongoing internal and external academic and wellbeing services and supportpartner with relevant PVC (Student Life) staff or other key stakeholders to achieve program development goals and delivery of individual or group wellbeing-related initiativesproactively engage with culturally relevant services to enable collective support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Students (e.g. Gadigal Centre)About yourelevant and applicable tertiary qualifications, or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experiencefull unrestricted NSW Driver license and a willingness and ability to travel to university’s satellite campuses in NSWWorking With Children Check requireddemonstrated first-hand lived experience and engagement in Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander communitiesability to initiate and manage complex projects with available resources and competing demands, and with independence and autonomydemonstrated experience in responding to individual presenting in crisis and/or incident management.To keep our community safe, please be aware of our which form our conditions of entry for all staff, students and visitors coming to campus.Sponsorship / work rights for AustraliaPlease note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
