Find out more and .Your Opportunity(formally Roma House) offers clients with complex needs immediate accommodation and intensive case management to create opportunities that end the cycle of homelessness. The service operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week with capacity to accommodate between 20 to 40 male clients over 18yrs with medium to high needs in a supportive housing setting.As the Team Leader you will be responsible for leading a team of 12-14 Case Worker who provide this vital and intensive support people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, working to secure long-term stable accommodationThis role provides supervision, guidance and support to the team in intake, assessment and day to day service delivery. You will maintain your own case management workload and provide case management support to the people accessing the service, the auditing of case notes as well as ongoing reporting functions for the services.Your Key ResponsibilitiesRespond to referrals of clients to the service from internal and external support services and conduct over the phone and formal face to face assessments for suitability for support.Undertake assessments and intakes for clients, including all necessary paperwork and application forms.Provide expert advice to internal stakeholders on a range of complex and sensitive issues and assist others in the resolution of conflict.Assist staff with the day-to-day running of the service by providing supervision and program support in line with program outcomes.Provide intensive ongoing person-centred case management in line with MA’s National Case Management Approach and review progression against case plan.Contribute to staff performance discussions when required including setting priorities and outcomes, planning and organising work and monitoring workflows.Conduct, co-ordinate or initiate group case management sessions for clientsAssist in addressing complex cases or emergenciesRequirements for SuccessWith a significant background in Homelessness, Community and/or Human Services sectors, you will be confident in your values-based leadership and case management and assessment processes. Other requirements include:Relevant university degree with relevant experience or other appropriate qualifications or experience acceptable to Mission Australia to perform the role.Demonstrated experience and sound understanding of working with vulnerable people and the issues impacting them such as AOD, FDV, Homelessness and Mental Health issues.Exceptional experience leading teams, developing a positive team culture and effective people management.A positive and person-centred approach with a strong guiding belief about everyone’s capacity to grow within and beyond their current circumstances.Ability to manage a range of tasks including those which fall outside of case management to ensure others provide the support required for clients accessing the service.Work as part of a multidisciplinary teamFull driver licence with no restrictions.Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.Our CultureOur innovative and inclusive culture will ensure you feel valued at Mission Australia as you help Australians in need and develop in your career.We prioritise the safety and wellbeing of everyone, both within our team and the individuals we serve.We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive working environment.
