We strive each day to better serve our customers and employees.Position Overview:Candidate will be primarily responsible for inspection, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of motor vehicle equipment. Candidate can expect typical assignments to include oil changes, transmission/motor repairs, and other basic mechanic duties on cars, trucks, and semis. Successful candidates will be able to work with little direction and be able to manage their time effectively.Responsibilities and Duties:Maintains vehicles, which may include a company's fleet of cars, trucks, heavy equipment, tractor/trailers, and other motor vehicles.Performs routine and preventive maintenance including oil changes and tune-ups.Performs tests on specific parts and systems to ensure proper function.Identifies mechanical problems either visually or with computer diagnostic equipment.Examines critical parts and systems using a standard checklist.Repairs or replaces malfunctioning parts and systems such as brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions, and other mechanical parts.Plans and establishes timetable to complete repairs and maintenance.Visits job sites to inspect vehicles.Test drives vehicle to confirm safe and proper operation.Performs various other duties and functions as required or assigned.Qualifications:Education and ExperienceMust have two (2) to five (5) years of experience as a diesel mechanic.Experience with vacuum trucks or water blasters.Basic verbal and written communication skills.Basic interpersonal and customer service skills.Basic organizational skills and attention to detail.Working understanding of safety principles, practices, and procedures.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.Personal CharacteristicsAbility to problem solve and develop solutions.Follows directions of manager / lead / superintendent and clarifies responsibilities if needed.Respects self, co-workers, managers, company, other contractors, and clients.Adaptable in methods used to complete task.Always have a support and teaching mindset.Ability to read, analyze, and address complex data or situations.Ability to write reports and business correspondence.Excellent communication skills - maintaining professionalism when communicating with staff and prospective employees alike.Willing to go the extra mile.Motivated to learn new skills.Follows directions of manager and clarifies responsibilities, if needed.Respects self, co-workers, managers, company, and prospective employees.Shows up on time ready to complete work.Ability to work independently.Physical AbilitiesAbility to lift, push, pull and move up to 50 lbs. on a routine basis.Ability to climb Ladders and stairways regularly throughout the work shift.Ability to observe conditions and others as safety attendant staying alert while seated for long periods of time as needed.Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and other tools and equipment in a safe and controlled manner.Ability to perform inspections of site, tools, and equipment.Ability to perform behavioral observations focused on safety and process improvement.Ability to follow safety protocol and to report any incident, unsafe act, or unsafe condition immediately to the site supervisor and safety manager.Work Availabilityhth companies is a 24/7 service company.
