This role offers the opportunity to contribute original research in the field of placental physiology, development, and health. You will work with a distinguished group of basic and clinician scientists to investigate new therapeutic options and mechanistic pathophysiological pathways for common pregnancy complications, such as pre-eclampsia, fetal growth restriction, gestational diabetes, and stillbirth.As a Senior Research Fellow, you will:Conduct high-quality research and produce conference and seminar papers, as well as publicationsSupervise research-support and administrative staff, including research assistants, midwives/nurses, medical students, and postdoc studentsProvide leadership and supervision for less senior research-only academic staffPromote research collaborations with external organisationsPrepare and submit research proposals to external funding bodiesLead and manage research projects, including financial oversight of grantsEngage in professional activities, including attending conferences and seminarsSupervise major honours or postgraduate research projectsKey Selection CriteriaA doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline area or equivalent accreditation and standing, along with subsequent research experienceStrong record of publications, conference papers, and/or professional contributions in the relevant discipline areaProven track record of securing significant external research grantsExperience in successfully supervising, mentoring, and supporting research staff development, and demonstrated leadership capabilityHigh-level organizational skills, including planning and managing research funds, with demonstrated goal achievementExcellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey research aims and outputs in various formatsThis is an exciting opportunity to be part of a world-renowned team, contributing to ground-breaking research that can significantly impact maternal and fetal health.
