Job DescriptionJoin our vibrant and innovative client as a Payroll Specialist. Our client is seeking an analytical and diligent individual who thrives in a deadline driven environment for a permanent opportunity with their team based in Dartmouth, NS.Key Responsibilities for the Job:Upload electronic timesheets from an ERP system to support payroll of 300 plus employeesMaintain payroll records including personnel records, deductions, increases, and withholding informationProcess payroll deductions and payment for RRSP, TFSA, and other benefitsAnalyze and audit payroll transactions and ensure accuracy of processingReview collective agreements to ensure accuracy and complianceReview employee attendance records including vacation, leave, overtime, and flex timeProcess payroll journal entries and ensure accuracyCollaborate with accounting team performing GL account reconciliations and various other month end dutiesProcess employee expense claims and allowancesPrepare compliance reporting as necessaryOther duties and projects as assignedExperience & Attributes for Success:Post secondary education in payroll, accounting, or related fieldPayroll certification PCP or equivalent3+ years payroll experience and working with collective agreements would be a definite assetStrong Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft productsFamiliarity with ADP and ERP accounting systems is a definite assetThe successful candidate must be capable of acquiring a security clearanceAbility to maintain strict confidentialityOrganized and highly reliable team player who takes pride in their work & teamAbility to take initiative and lead projects as requiredIf interested in this opportunity, please apply online by clicking the Apply Now button.To learn more about similar opportunities, the local job market, or to discuss your career interests, please contact Natalie Clothier, Senior Recruitment Consultant at .Accountant Staffing is Atlantic Canadas only specialist recruitment firm focusing exclusively on the placement of accounting and finance professionals.
