Job Title: RN Labor & DeliveryLocation: Bronx, NYCategory: TravelerDegree: Registered NurseSpecialty: Labor & DeliveryDuties:As a Registered Nurse in the Labor & Delivery department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to expectant mothers and their newborns. Your duties will include but are not limited to:Maternal and Child Care: Provide comprehensive care for patients during labor and delivery, including monitoring the progress of labor, assisting with deliveries, and providing postnatal care for both the mother and the newborn.IV Insertion and Phlebotomy: Perform IV insertions and draw blood as required for patient care.Conscious Sedation: Administer conscious sedation as needed during labor and delivery procedures.Patient Assessment and Monitoring: Continuously monitor and assess the health of patients and their babies, responding to any changes in their condition.Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care, including monitoring vital signs, documenting labor progress, and recording interventions.Collaboration: Work collaboratively with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal care for patients.Patient and Family Education: Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding labor, delivery, and postpartum care.Emergency Response: Be prepared to handle emergencies during labor and delivery, including performing life-saving measures if necessary.Skills:Maternal and Child Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in maternal and child healthcare.IV Insertion and Phlebotomy: Proficient in IV insertion and phlebotomy techniques.Conscious Sedation: Experience in administering conscious sedation.Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.Critical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills to assess patient conditions and provide appropriate care.Education:Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)Preferred: Advanced certifications or training related to Labor & Delivery.Certifications & Licenses:Required:New York State RN LicenseACLS - AHABLS - AHANRP CertifiedPhlebotomist CertificationLanguages:English (Speak, Read, Write)Schedule:Hours Per Week: 36.00 hoursHours Per Day: 12.00 hoursDays Per Week: 3.00 daysShift: Rotating weekends and holidays required.Schedule: Day or Night shifts as assigned.NavitsPartners
