This is a permanent position, reporting directly to the Regional Director of SHEQ. This role works across our Western Australian sites leading the Occupational Hygiene Testing program and Radiation Safety Programs. This exciting role provides all out sites occupational hygiene and radiation advice and support through high levels of communication, engagement and influence, striving for best practice across these disciplines.The role would be required to travel to all our sites in WA on a routine basis.Your key responsibilities will include:Maintain a current Health and Hygiene Management Plan and support the implementation of the relevant Radiation Management Plans.Establish, perform and monitor occupational hygiene monitoring programs and systems.Drive the continuous improvement and compliance of occupational hygiene practices by actively seeking new technologies, research and equipment.Undertake and mentor the roles statutory Radiation Safety Officer, Ventilation Officer and Noise Officer for our Operations.Maintain statutory compliance with relevant regulations.Submit annual health and hygiene and radiation reports to regulators; Liaise with site based RSOs and with Regulators.Liaise with Environmental and Remediation teams on environmental radiation matters.Support and provide advice to new projects where radiation is a risk factor.Tertiary qualifications in a discipline approved by the State Mining Engineer for appointment as Radiation Safety Officer (NORM), with a thorough understanding of leading occupational hygiene management.Experience in the mining industry including dealing with Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials.A track record in achieving high levels of occupational hygiene performance.In-depth understanding and application of WA mine legislation.Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills at all levels.You must be flexible with your time and approach and willing to travel within the state.Next StepsClick “Apply” and start your brilliant journey with Tronox today!Tronox is committed to building and retaining a diverse and inclusive workforce that reflects the communities in which we operate.Tronox employees are required to discuss their intend with the direct supervisor before applying.Tronox reserves the right to remove the job postings prior to the stated closing date.
