It is dedicated to driving economic growth, sustainable development, and community prosperity across Queensland, playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of our state.We have a unique opportunity for a temporary Senior Project Officer to join the Planning Services team which is responsible for administering land use planning and development assessment strategies, policies, frameworks, and processes for proposed and existing Priority Development Areas (PDAs), in partnership with a range of stakeholders.This position is dynamic, providing unique opportunities for strategic project coordination, the development and implementation of business improvement initiatives, as well as supporting the Planning Services team with its day-to-day functions and responsibilities, including procurement, contract management, financial reporting and data sharing.As Senior Project Officer, you will play a key role in providing support to achieve project objectives related to project development and delivery.To succeed in this role, you will be able to demonstrate your ability to:» support the Planning Services team in the delivery of exemplary planning and development assessment services, contributing to the effective and timely implementation of EDQ's strategic objectives» coordinate procurement activities by preparing and managing documentation including status reports and post-contract award, be responsible for contract management, budget tracking, accounts management, record management and quality control» provide effective project coordination through the development and implementation of essential project management documents and tools, including project budgets, programs, project reporting, risk identification and mitigation and overall project plans» build and maintain professional relationships with stakeholders to provide timely and accurate advice on issues, project milestones and required outcomes in relation to procurement and business improvement initiatives» operate with a high level of autonomy and use initiative to provide effective, efficient and comprehensive procurement, business improvement and project coordination support» communicate, consult and liaise with a range of state government agencies, EDQ partners, industry and private sector suppliers and contractors to coordinate stakeholder inputs and deliver a high level of service as a representative of EDQ» manage competing priorities, work collaboratively across teams and projects and participate in travel, workshop logistics and meeting attendance with relevant stakeholders » manage and monitor contract budgets including reporting of financial and timing status, monitoring against purchase orders and identifying risks and required actions» support and implement policies in relation to First Nations procurement» support and implement policies which contribute to a zero-harm safety culture.EDQ is also looking for people who can contribute to a workplace culture that supports inclusion and diversity, and encourages and supports employees asindividuals in an inclusive environment by applying diverse and inclusive thinking to our business.
