Central Coast Local Health District are currently seeking full time and part time Social Workers to join their friendly team at Child and Family Health.These full time and part time positions are a unique opportunity, in a positive and supported working environment, to learn and/or further develop your person centred and trauma informed therapeutic Social Work counselling skills and provide counselling services to and work alongside parents, children and families. This position really allows you the opportunity to make a difference to the lives of children and families of the Central Coast Community.In this position you will be guaranteed to gain a wealth of knowledge and experience that will be invaluable and central to your Social Work practice as you move forward with your Social Work career in whatever direction it takes you.Key responsibilities include conducting psycho-social assessments, providing therapeutic Social Work counselling services that work to support children, parents and families to foster healthy and secure relationships and improve overall family functioning. The position encompass activities such as case coordination, individual and family counselling/therapy, group work, and facilitating referrals to partner services that meet the families identified needs. It also involves collaboration with interdisciplinary colleagues and senior managers within CCLHD Child and Family Health service and the active contribution to service development, evaluation, and provides education to staff and students.About YouYou have tertiary qualifications in Social Work, with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) (overseas qualifications must supply the AASW Overseas Assessment number) and a demonstrated understanding of the current AASW Practice Standards as they relate to the Social Worker Level 1/2- Child and Family Health position.You are have a eager interest in developing and/or building upon your Social Work therapeutic counselling skills and working in partnership with parents and families, including brief and/or longer term individual and/or family counselling/interventions, and group facilitation.You have an understanding of psycho-social and attachment issues occurring during child developmentWhere you'll be workingThe position will work within a dedicated interdisciplinary team located within the Child and Family Community Health Centre within the Gateway Centre, Gosford CBD Your role will involve delivering social work services to children and their families, aiming to achieve optimal health outcomes. Key responsibilities include conducting assessments, providing counseling, and implementing therapeutic interventions. These efforts are designed to foster healthy and secure relationships within families, improve overall family functioning, and encompass activities such as case coordination, individual and family therapy, group work, and making referrals.Collaboration with interdisciplinary colleagues and senior managers within Child and Family Health is crucial to ensure the effective and proactive delivery of social work services.
