If you dream of joining an organization that is small enough for you to be noticed, but big enough to provide you with a meaningful career, then we want to hear from you!Job DescriptionThe House of Commons’ Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms and Corporate Security (SAA-CS) is currently looking to staff the Business Applications Support Officer position.About the roleThe Business Applications Support Officer is responsible for providing first-line business application support for the SAA-CS and Parliamentary Precinct clients. They are responsible for overall management of user access rights and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for the supported software and security system products.The incumbent identifies technical issues in applications and infrastructure, identifies business requirements, and informs management at the Security Project Management Office and Technical Operations (SPMO-TO). He or she participates in the testing of business application solutions following new releases and enhancements; and provides feedback to the team responsible for indirect support.Candidates must have the ability to obtain an Enhanced Secret or Top Secret clearance with Access to Compartmented Information (As part of this team, it is expected that employees will be required to come on-site a minimum of three days a week or more upon operational requirements.On-call, evening and weekend work is required at times.Top Reasons to Join Security Project Management and Technical OperationsThrough excellent client service, the Security Project Management and Technical Operations team supports the various security technologies utilized by the Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms and Corporate Security as well as Parliamentary Precinct clients. If you are truly passionate about working with cutting edge technology and wish to be part of a dedicated team that will help you grow professionally, then this is an opportunity you can’t miss!Training and development opportunitiesWork-life balance /35-hour workweek4 weeks’ vacation (minimum)QualificationsEducation :Post-secondary education OR acceptable combination of education, training and/or relevant experience in the field of information technology or any related field.Experiences:Experience in providing first-level support to users and clients by phone and e-mail on the resolution of issues with applications and/or systems;Experience in the analysis of user requirements, in assessing issues, problems and requests, asking the right questions to clarify needs and in making recommendations, and in communicating ideas, requirements and expectations clearly;Experience with the understanding of Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office;Experience working with various clients and able to adapt to different audiences and situations;Experience working with computer hardware and peripherals;Experience in quality assurance, in the development and execution of test case scenarios and test scripts including recording and reporting of test case results.Assets :Experience with software and/or application testing;Knowledge of security applications and/or systems (Lenel and Access level management);Experience with managing user access rights for applications and/or systems;Knowledge of House of Commons and parliamentary precinct;Experience with pulling and analyzing reports.Additional InformationWe are committed to creating an inclusive workplace by providing a barrier-free recruitment and selection process.
