Team Leader (FT) - Lago LindoEdmonton, AB, Canada Req #420Thursday, July 25, 2024Catholic Social Services is currently seeking a Full time 40 hours per week, Team Leader in EDMONTON to join our Lago Lindo. Providing excellent client-centered care, you are confident, thoughtful, and motivated to achieve success when supporting others in your community.This position has a weekly schedule of: Monday to Friday.Job Summary:Challenge your skills as a Team Leader, a coach and mentor for a team of dedicated staff providing supports to adults with complex challenges. Working in a residential setting, you will lead by example demonstrating excellent resident-focused service delivery including supports to meet the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of the person. Your willingness to learn about various resident conditions will ensure the highest quality of care. Your ability to multi-task will help you work through the administrative portion of your role efficiently, as scheduling; supervision and managing of day to day operations of the ministry are your responsibility. You should enjoy working in a unique, often changing environment.Your passion for working with marginalized people will be supported by your willingness to embrace the unique philosophy of the organization, working to maintain the positive outcomes achieved to date. Your strong understanding of the mission of Catholic Social Services and a willingness to infuse all aspects of your work with humility, compassion and respect is a must.Assertive, fair and flexible with strong organizational and communication skills you have developed good skills working with staff, team members, families and external stakeholders.Job Duties:Provide oversight to staff team to ensure they are meeting the physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of the people servedProvide direction and supervision to the staff they supervise including completing a staffing schedule for the home, performance appraisals, approving timesheets and time off requests, mentoring and training staff, regularly scheduling staff meetings, and other duties as assignedParticipate in recruitment and orientation of new staffMonitor and coordinate the development and implementation of the Annual and Quarterly Reviews for the people served in the home and ensure this information is captured in the CSS data baseBe available to the home Monday-Friday when not at work to support the team with any emergency situationsParticipate in rotating on-call system as required over weekends and statutory holidaysAssist in maintaining building and equipment according to Agency standardsReport hazards and critical incidents to Program Manager in a timely mannerEnsure the staff team is following the policies and procedures of Catholic Social ServicesEnsure the home functions within approved budgetRepresent the home and Service on Agency committees and as a trainer as assignedPerform banking and bookkeeping responsibilities for the expenses of the individuals living in the home and ensure rent, utilities and other expenses are paid in a timely mannerConsult with individual's family/guardian and physicians, advocating for individual when neededMaintain professional contact with individual's support network, neighbours, employerSupport volunteers for programAttend training/staff development programsEnsure Accreditation Standards are followedWhat This Job Requires:A degree or diploma in the Human Services; equivalencies will be considered3 years experience working with individuals with disabilitiesMust take and pass Medication Administration CourseSupervisory experience considered an assetProven problem-solving skills with the ability to visualize and deliver creative solutions.Provide delegation, negotiation and leadership skillsHigh level of professionalism, confidentiality and diplomacyExcellent planning and organizing skills to meet deadlinesFlexibility and openness to changesExperience supervising teamsStrong computer skills and abilitiesDriver's Abstract with less than six (6) demerit points current within one (1) yearAble to provide a Police Record with Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Intervention Record CheckWhat We Offer:The salary for this position is $54,455.04 to $61,282.8 based on qualifications and experience.Work within a highly collaborative, team-oriented organization, where your ideas are heard, and you can see your impact daily.Growth Opportunities: apply and grow your skills within a dynamic, innovative and expanding Agency that is taking a leadership role in our industry.About Catholic Social Services:You will be joining an established Agency that is guided by faith to care for and bring hope to people in need with humility, compassion and respect.With more than 60 years of service delivery, Catholic Social Services is one of the largest multi-function social services agencies in Canada, with more than 1900 staff, and hundreds of volunteers delivering 130+ programs throughout Central Alberta and Edmonton.Our values are at the core of everything we do!Humility: We acknowledge with gratitude our human abilities and limitations.
