Full-time, fixed-term HEW 9 position until December 2026Base salary will be in the range $127,496 - $134,829 + 17% SuperannuationBased at our vibrant campusAbout This OpportunityWorking across the University, you will provide strategic advice, collaborative opportunities and research development support to our researcher community, university senior management and professional staff to support the development of programmatic research for major funding opportunities.Locally known as the Senior Manager, Research Collaboration and Major Initiatives, the focus of this role is to identify and drive interdisciplinary, cross-faculty and cross-organisational, strategic initiatives to develop consortia able to compete successfully for major funding opportunities.Some key responsibilities include:Lead and facilitate central divisions and Faculties/Institutes to develop and deliver collaborative strategies and mechanisms.Support the development and positioning of research programs, across disciplines, for major funding opportunities under UQ’s strategic research objectives.Deliver expert recommendations, data, insights and briefings on relevant topics to provide a competitive edge for UQ research teams in developing evidenced-based collaborative research programs.Build and sustain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and an extensive network of relevant university staff, clients and other external stakeholders.Please contact for a copy of the full position description.About UQAs part of the UQ community, you will have the opportunity to work alongside the brightest minds, who have joined us from all over the world.Everyone here has a role to play. Thriving in dynamic environments, you innovate collaboratively to achieve outstanding results and build research consortia of scale at UQ.Your background includes:A post-graduate degree in a relevant field with extensive experience.An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.Extensive experience in a major research, industry, or Government portfolio.Successful development and delivery of major research funding proposals and/or business cases for innovation/investment.Comprehensive knowledge of the Australian higher education sector and its funding opportunities.Experience developing organisational capability for innovation.Familiarity with the international research and innovation environment.Exceptional written and oral communication skills.Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering workshops, seminars, and training.Demonstrated negotiation and consultation skills.Demonstrated experience in understanding the exchange of knowledge between researchers and stakeholders, including perspectives of the end-users or consumers of research, and converting research findings into practical applications.High-level conceptual and analytical skills.Proven problem-solving abilities.The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including right to work in Australia, criminal check, education check etc.Questions?For more information about this opportunity, please contact Dr Madonna Devaney, Associate Director, Major Initiatives via .
