About UsThe Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state.The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 percent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible, and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.About the RoleThe Senior Project Officer works as part of the Family Violence Policy and Practice Unit (FVPPU) within the Magistrates' Court of Victoria, which aims to deliver service excellence and strengthen the family violence processes in the Magistrates' Court. The Senior Project Officer will support staff training, development and capability building for the RHSS staff in responding to Affected Family Members and making connections to support services.Reporting to the Manager, Family Violence Programs and Initiatives, the Senior Project Officer will be responsible for monitoring and reporting Remote Hearing outcomes and leading the design and implementation of Remote Hearing development and pilot initiatives. More broadly, the Senior Project Officer will contribute to the development and delivery of court services and programs that support, protect and improve the outcomes for victims of family violence and hold people who use family violence to account for their behaviour. This includes the implementation of recommendations of the Royal Commission into Family Violence (RCFV) and the embedding and sustainability of Family Violence reform in all Courts.The Senior Project Officer will also be responsible for writing a business case to further support the Remote Hearing Support Service. The Senior Project Officer will lead the planning, development, drafting, production and approval of the business case, in accordance with the agreed business case template.
